Managing PartnerGary Inglis
Gary originally trained with a mid-sized firm and then spent a number of years as Finance Director of a large consumer electronics company before returning to public practice in 1987. The electronics company was subsequently acquired by a well-known entrepreneur called Alan Sugar and there is some debate as to who was whose apprentice!
Following a three year sabbatical in the USA, Gary joined one of our predecessor firms, Freedman Stuart, in 1995 and becoming a partner in 1996. Gary specialises in the Recruitment, Property and Construction sectors and has a wealth of experience in advising clients in corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. Gary is also the firm’s Managing and Senior Partner.

PartnerLee Manning
Lee has been at Raffingers since he was a boy in short trousers. His passion is helping clients succeed, grow and be cash rich. One of a few Profit First Certified Professionals in the UK that can really make a positive difference to owner managed businesses and he loves to investigate new technology to see how it can improve the efficiencies within businesses. He specialises in helping recruitment companies from start ups to multi office agencies and is not camera shy being our inhouse webinar guru.

PartnerBarry Soraff
Barry was born into a family of accountants but grew up wanting to be an airline pilot. Having been persuaded that he may be better suited to a more “feet on the ground” profession, he found a passion that he never knew existed, took his exams and qualified at the age of 22.
Barry was a partner at Raffingers by the age of 26 and has now been with us in one form or another for nearly thirty years. Despite still regarding himself as a frustrated pilot, he has grown to love his new life: “I can go on a plane anytime I want but not many pilots will experience the pleasure of walking into a room, facing down a long list of problems and leaving having helped a client to find solutions to all of them.”

Adam has been at Raffingers for over 25 years, initially as a trainee and worked his way to partner in 2003. Over those years, Adam has dedicated his time to helping SMEs in all sectors to grow and thrive. There is nothing Adam enjoys more than working closely with his clients to ensure that they can maximise their potential and the values of their businesses. Adam enjoys the variety of work that comes with being a partner, no two days are ever the same.

Paul qualified in 1990 and took over the firm of Alexander Ash & Co in 1997. Alexander Ash & Co merged with Raffingers in September 2014. Over the years, Paul has had extensive experience in the SME sector, advising business owners on all aspects of their business needs and personal wealth management. Paul deals with a range of clients across a variety of sectors, varying from small to large groups

PartnerSuda Ratnam
Suda joined Raffingers in August 1999 and became a Partner in 2008.
Prior to working with Raffingers, Suda trained with a large firm in the City of London. Suda manages a busy portfolio of clients, including owner managed businesses and UK subsidiaries providing audit, accountancy and business advisory services.
Suda has a hands-on approach to all his business start-ups, guiding them through their tricky growth phases. He also helps in not just giving accounting and taxation advice, which is essential, but also provides advice on setting up systems and sourcing finance, if required.

PartnerAndrew Coney
Andrew started his working career as a sole practitioner in South Africa. As they did not have any computers or laptops to work on, all his training was done “old style”, in paper ledgers. Andrew moved to London in 1999 and gained further experience in a medium sized firm located in North London.
After completing his professional qualifications in 2003, Andrew dipped his toes into the world of industry. For six months Andrew worked as a Financial Controller; he sorted the accounts department out (and team!) to such an efficient level that the owners were able to sell up for a large profit! Job done, he then returned to public practice. Andrew joined Raffingers in 2007 as our audit manager and become Partner in early 2011. Andrew specialises in the property and construction sector, as well as start-ups.

PartnerRoy Butcher
Roy has been in general public practice for over 25 years, working mainly with owner managed businesses in a range of industry sectors, including creative, property, retail, recruitment, travel, consultancy and professional regulated services.
With several years in industry as a Financial Controller for a large group in the motor salvage industry, Roy’s extensive experience includes accounting, taxation, financial analysis, tax planning strategies, audit & assurance reviews, and complex VAT structures.
As Partner at Raffingers, Roy heads up the Creative Client Sectors. Representing clients' in industries including architecture; advertising and marketing; crafts; design (product, graphic, fashion); film, TV, radio and photography; galleries and libraries; music, performing and visual arts; and publishing.

PartnerNeill Staff
Neill started his tax career by joining the Inland Revenue in 1981. He spent 23 years in the department mostly as a senior Investigator before leaving HMRC to become a senior tax advisor in several large practices. He joined Raffingers in June 2015 and helped transform the tax department into a specialist team with particular expertise in HMRC enquiry work, Let Property Campaigns, Research & Development and tax planning.
Neill is an acknowledged expert in dealing with all kinds of HMRC enquiries including Code of Practise 9 fraud cases, full and aspect enquiries, and over 200 successful Let Property Campaign submissions. He has also dealt with several hundred successful R&D claims securing repayments of over £6m. Neill was promoted to partner in September 2017.

Mehul qualified at a large practice and spent a number of years providing audit, accountancy and tax services to SMEs, professional practices and owner managed businesses.
Mehul enjoys working closely with clients to understand their business beyond the financials to help with corporate finance, strategic business planning, cashflow management and profit improvement to better business performance and financial results.

Ashlee has worked for international brands and for early-stage startups, and is now heading up the marketing division here at Raffingers. Having spent the duration of her career embraced in creating cutting-edge marketing strategies within a range of sectors, Ashlee also offers strategic marketing advice to Raffingers clients, helping them to generate leads and retain customers.
Ashlee believes strongly in the power of brand and how it helps to build long lasting connections with customers and ultimately, fuels commercial growth.

PartnerYedidya Zaiden
Yedidya grew up in South Africa and after completing his schooling, studied in Israel and the UK. He qualified with the ACCA in 2006 and whilst he has a particular focus on the property and charity sectors, he has assisted clients operating in various spheres of business.
We were delighted to announce Yedidya as a partner at the start of 2021, bringing the total number of partners at the firm to eleven.

Sunita grew up in Mauritius and pursued her ACCA in the UK. Sunita joined Raffingers accounts and audit team in June 2015 as an ACCA qualified senior. She specialises in solicitors audits, grant audits and FCA registered clients. Sunita also liaises with our French-speaking clients.
Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, travelling, yoga and playing golf.

After being offered a permanent role at the firm, he has worked his way up from the office junior to being an experienced member of the audit and accounts team. When not in the office, Joe can be found taking chunks out of his local golf course, or in the kitchen cooking up a storm. Joe received a well deserved promoted to a PA at the start of 2021.

With 40 years in the IT industry, Laurence has been the IT manager at Raffingers for nearly ten years and during that period he has seen the company nearly treble in size. Having personally replaced every single piece of equipment at least twice, Laurence has made sure that Raffingers has the most up to date software and hardware equipment available in order to deliver the highest level of client and employee experience. Having worked all over the world, Laurence can honestly say that this is the first company he has worked at that feels like a family, and is well known for his appalling “Dad” jokes and eye watering collection of pacific shirts.

Svitlana specialises in Xero software and helps a wide range of clients to get real-time financial information about their businesses and therefore make better-informed business decisions.

Since 1997 Laurence has continuously worked in financial services with careers in New York, Ireland and the UK. Laurence has previously been awarded the Gold Medal for the highest results in the Irish QFA (Qualified Financial Adviser) exam. Laurence specialises in developing full financial plans for his clients. He also has specialised qualifications in Equity Release and Later Life advice such as Long Term Care Planning.

Andrew after leaving an early career in law has spent his whole financial services career working within an accountancy practice since 2006. Andrew is a one of around 2000 CFP professionals in the UK and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. Andrew’s particular specialisms are individual tax and lifetime financial planning. Andrew is also our occupational pension specialist and can provide final salary pension advice to trustees and individuals.

Riya graduated from Cass Business School in 2020 where she studied Accounting and Finance. Raffingers is her first full-time role and she will be working as an audit and accounts junior, whilst she completes her ACCA qualification.

From a young age, Andrea had a huge interest in marketing and communications. Following her studies in social media, creative media production and technology at college, Andrea secured a Marketing Apprenticeship here at Raffingers. As a naturally creative individual with a savviness for business, Andrea is excited to bring her skills and visions into the marketing department and really get her teeth into how to produce campaigns that form strong connections with customers.

Mohamed has been a member of the ACCA since 2005 and has a BA Hons in Accounting and Finance. He first worked as an Audit Manager in London at a Top 20 accounting and consultancy firm until 2008, when he moved to Qatar to join a Big 4 firm. Mohamed has worked across a wide range of industries in various countries; the UK, France, Qatar, Lebanon and the UAE. After coming back to the UK in 2017, he now wants to become a specialist in the not-for-profit sector. In his spare time, Mohamed gives free online tuition in Maths and even composes his own music!

Mike has over 25 years of experience in the Employee Benefits industry working with corporate clients in developing, implementing, and communicating their employee benefits provision. He works with companies of all sizes from small owner-managed businesses to large multinationals, across the full range of employee benefit arrangements.
Mike enjoys not only dealing with his clients at an employer level but also presenting to their employees, cutting through the jargon so often used in the industry, and ensuring that any benefits package is fully understood and appreciated.

In his years of digital marketing before joining Raffingers in 2020, Tim has worked in a variety of sectors, including Health & Safety, Mobile & Broadband, Not-For-Profit and Construction, making him a versatile addition to our marketing team. Growing up surrounded by technology, Tim lives and breathes all things digital. Social media and the murky waters of the web are second nature to him. He even based his university dissertation on Twitter, breaking down user interactions with a highly analytical and psychological approach. To top it all off, Tim even has a background in coding HTML, CSS & Python which built the foundations of his problem-solving skills and great attention to detail.

Jade has joined us as an Accounts and Audit Junior. She graduated in Accounting and Finance at the University of Hertfordshire in 2019 and she is now intending to pursue her ambitions of being a qualified accountant in the years to come. She enjoys helping people and believes that the accounting profession will allow her to do so. In her spare time, she loves to spend quality time with her loved ones and experimenting with cooking. She was born and raised in London and her family originates from Thailand, famous for dishes such as pad Thai and green curry and many more. She is extremely excited to progress, develop and become a great asset to the team.

Junaid was born in Pakistan and moved to the UK in 2011 for his studies. He attended the University of the West of Scotland and qualified ACCA in 2014 and CIMA in 2019. He has a postgraduate diploma in Leadership and Strategy also. He has worked in audit firms and when he isn't working he enjoys spending his time watching movies and reading self-help books.

Madhavan is one of our Audits and Accounts juniors. He graduated from the University of Portsmouth where he studied economics and finance. Raffingers is his first full-time job and he looks forward to progress as his skill set expands. In his spare time, he plays the piano and takes part in badminton tournaments on the weekends.
