Individual Savings Allowance (ISA)

Thursday 4 December 2014

Individual Savings Allowance (ISA)
ISA limit will increase in April 2015 from £15,000 to £15,240.

Excellent end of tax year planning tip: Top up your tax free ISA and pay no tax on your savings

Key Changes for ISA on death:

With effect from 3 December 2014, if an individual (ISA holder) who is either married or in a civil partnership passes away, the surviving spouse will inherit the ISA and keep the tax free status. The surviving spouse will obtain a one-off ISA allowance equivalent to the pot of the deceased spouse or civil partner. One key note is the ISA allowance will only be effective from 6 April 2015.
