YOUR FINANCE CHAMPIONS
Our dedicated team of in-house funding specialists are just waiting for you to pick their brains.

Gary originally trained with a mid-sized firm and then spent a number of years as Finance Director of a large consumer electronics company before returning to public practice in 1987. The electronics company was subsequently acquired by a well-known entrepreneur called Alan Sugar and there is some debate as to who was whose apprentice!
Following a three year sabbatical in the USA, Gary joined one of our predecessor firms, Freedman Stuart, in 1995 and becoming a partner in 1996. Gary specialises in the Recruitment, Property and Construction sectors and has a wealth of experience in advising clients in corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. Gary is also the firm’s Managing and Senior Partner.

Lee has been at Raffingers since he was a boy in short trousers. His passion is helping clients succeed, grow and be cash rich, and he loves to investigate new technology to see how it can improve the efficiencies within businesses. Lee specialises in helping recruitment companies scale from start-ups to multi-office agencies.

Barry was born into a family of accountants but grew up wanting to be an airline pilot. Having been persuaded that he may be better suited to a more “feet on the ground” profession, he found a passion that he never knew existed, took his exams and qualified at the age of 22.
Barry was a partner at Raffingers by the age of 26 and has now been with us in one form or another for nearly thirty years. Despite still regarding himself as a frustrated pilot, he has grown to love his new life: “I can go on a plane anytime I want but not many pilots will experience the pleasure of walking into a room, facing down a long list of problems and leaving having helped a client to find solutions to all of them.”

Adam has been at Raffingers for over 25 years, initially as a trainee and worked his way to partner in 2003. Over those years, Adam has dedicated his time to helping SMEs in all sectors to grow and thrive. There is nothing Adam enjoys more than working closely with his clients to ensure that they can maximise their potential and the values of their businesses. Adam enjoys the variety of work that comes with being a partner, no two days are ever the same.

Paul qualified in 1990 and took over the firm of Alexander Ash & Co in 1997. Alexander Ash & Co merged with Raffingers in September 2014. Over the years, Paul has had extensive experience in the SME sector, advising business owners on all aspects of their business needs and personal wealth management. Paul deals with a range of clients across a variety of sectors, varying from small to large groups

Suda joined Raffingers in August 1999 and became a Partner in 2008.
Prior to working with Raffingers, Suda trained with a large firm in the City of London. Suda manages a busy portfolio of clients, including owner managed businesses and UK subsidiaries providing audit, accountancy and business advisory services.
Suda has a hands-on approach to all his business start-ups, guiding them through their tricky growth phases. He also helps in not just giving accounting and taxation advice, which is essential, but also provides advice on setting up systems and sourcing finance, if required.

Andrew started his working career as a sole practitioner in South Africa. As they did not have any computers or laptops to work on, all his training was done “old style”, in paper ledgers. Andrew moved to London in 1999 and gained further experience in a medium sized firm located in North London.
After completing his professional qualifications in 2003, Andrew dipped his toes into the world of industry. For six months Andrew worked as a Financial Controller; he sorted the accounts department out (and team!) to such an efficient level that the owners were able to sell up for a large profit! Job done, he then returned to public practice. Andrew joined Raffingers in 2007 as our audit manager and become Partner in early 2011. Andrew specialises in the property and construction sector, as well as start-ups.

Roy has been in general public practice for over 25 years, working mainly with owner managed businesses in a range of industry sectors, including creative, property, retail, recruitment, travel, consultancy and professional regulated services.
With several years in industry as a Financial Controller for a large group in the motor salvage industry, Roy’s extensive experience includes accounting, taxation, financial analysis, tax planning strategies, audit & assurance reviews, and complex VAT structures.
As Partner at Raffingers, Roy heads up the Creative Client Sectors. Representing clients' in industries including architecture; advertising and marketing; crafts; design (product, graphic, fashion); film, TV, radio and photography; galleries and libraries; music, performing and visual arts; and publishing.

Neill started his tax career by joining the Inland Revenue in 1981. He spent 23 years in the department mostly as a senior Investigator before leaving HMRC to become a senior tax advisor in several large practices. He joined Raffingers in June 2015 and helped transform the tax department into a specialist team with particular expertise in HMRC enquiry work, Let Property Campaigns, Research & Development and tax planning.
Neill is an acknowledged expert in dealing with all kinds of HMRC enquiries including Code of Practise 9 fraud cases, full and aspect enquiries, and over 200 successful Let Property Campaign submissions. He has also dealt with several hundred successful R&D claims securing repayments of over £13m. Neill was promoted to partner in September 2017.

Mehul qualified at a large practice and spent a number of years providing audit, accountancy and tax services to SMEs, professional practices and owner managed businesses.
Mehul enjoys working closely with clients to understand their business beyond the financials to help with corporate finance, strategic business planning, cashflow management and profit improvement to better business performance and financial results.

Yedidya grew up in South Africa and after completing his schooling, studied in Israel and the UK. He qualified with the ACCA in 2006 and whilst he has a particular focus on the property and charity sectors, he has assisted clients operating in various spheres of business.
We were delighted to announce Yedidya as a partner at the start of 2021.

Sally started working at Raffingers in September 2014, following the merger with Alexander Ash & Co. Sally's qualifications include a B.Sc (Hons) and FCCA.

Anand joined Raffingers in 2014 and has never looked back since. He is ACCA qualified and has a wealth of knowledge working with SMEs. Anand believes there are no greater joys than helping others achieve greater goals. This motivates him to improve and enhance his knowledge. When he is not crunching numbers, he is busy destroying things via DIY or ticking tasks off the list - given by his wife!

Danielle is our Cloud Manager, and is currently studying AAT Level 4. Danielle started her career at a larger practice and was there for 5 years where her role involved everything from VAT Returns, Tax Returns, Y/E Accounts to Service Charge Accounts. Danielle now specialises in helping to transform property businesses through the power of Xero, and will help ensure that your property business is up to date with third-party apps designed for property businesses.

Joe started at Raffingers in 2015 on a work experience placement. After being offered a permanent role at the firm, he has worked his way up from the office junior to being an experienced member of the audit and accounts team. When not in the office, Joe can be found taking chunks out of his local golf course, or in the kitchen cooking up a storm. Joe received a well deserved promoted to a PA at the start of 2021.

After completing her A-Levels at Epping Forest College in Accounting, English Language and ICT, Kathryn knew she wanted to pursue a career in accountancy. Kathryn joined NWN Blue Squared Limited in 2014 and subsequently Raffingers in January 2018 and is currently working towards her ACCA qualification.

Jay is one of our senior accountant here and has been at Raffingers since 2018 while studying for his ACCA qualification, he has a particular attention to detail making him a valuable addition to the team.

Raffingers helped us transform our business. Our previous bankers didn’t seem to understand what we do and the complexities of being a construction sector supplier and were really hampering, and at times endangering, our future growth. However, Gary and his team came to our rescue. Through their knowledge of the funding market, we were introduced to factoring and have never looked back. We are now able to release funds quickly, securing a positive cash flow and helping us put our business in a strong position. We are now going from strength to strength.
Melanie Kingston, Director, Diamond Construction and Engineering -
We wanted to take that next step and additional funding was the only option. After exhausting the banks we turned to Raffingers whose knowledge helped us tremendously. In the end we secured funding through peer-to-peer lending, an option that we had never considered before. Consequently, we have been able to invest in new projects and grow in areas we didn’t think were possible.
Bola Yusuf, Owner, International Tax -
Getting my business off the ground has been a complete rollercoaster for me. However, Raffingers has supported me every step of the way. Not only did they guide me through my business plan, but they curated a range of forecasting scenarios for me, helping me to secure the funding I desperately needed to get my business off the ground.
