Raffingers Foundation Set to Host Second Charity Ball in 1920s Style

Monday 25 June 2018

Raffingers Foundation Set to Host Second Charity Ball in 1920s Style
Raffingers Foundation will host their second Charity Ball on Saturday 15 September at Prince Regent Chigwell.

This year’s ball will be in 1920s theme and will include a three-course dinner, live entertainment from Frog on a Rocket and Comedy Cabaret Musician, Martin Reed, a silent auction and a raffle.

Raffingers Foundation raised over £12,000 at their first charity ball in 2017 and are hoping to beat this amount this year.

Tickets are £75 per person, or, tables of 10 are available for £700.

Raffingers Foundation is run by volunteers, which means every single penny raised at the ball goes directly to the causes they support. These are:

  1. Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund and Ovarian Cancer Action. Money donated to these charities is used to support research projects.
  2. To financially help those directly affected by pancreatic and ovarian cancer. This money can be used for counselling, support and days away for the families. Since the fund was launched the money has been used for private counselling and a memorial plaque.
Launched in 2016, Raffingers Foundation has already raised nearly £20,000.

Lee Manning, Partner at Raffingers and Chairman of Raffingers Foundation said, “The Raffingers Foundation Charity Ball was such a success last year that we cannot wait to see what our 2018 event will bring. The ball is a lovely opportunity for us to bring together clients, family, friends and the wider community to support a well-deserved cause.

The support we have received has been very humbling. Pancreatic and ovarian cancer have some of the lowest survival rates, therefore the ball is extremely important to us, not only to raise money, but to raise some much needed awareness”.

Raffingers Foundation’s 1920s Charity Ball will take place on Saturday 15 September 2018 at 6:30pm at Prince Regent. The Foundation is looking for Raffle and Auction prizes. To attend or to contribute to the auction or raffle, contact lauren.kelly@raffingers.co.uk.

With an estimated 2.5 million people in the UK affected by cancer, staff at Raffingers founded ‘Raffingers Foundation’, a charity set up to honour those affected by Pancreatic and Ovarian cancer.

Raffingers Foundation was formed in 2016, in memory of Jason Kew, a dear husband and friend, who sadly lost his life to pancreatic cancer, as well as to honour those family members of the firm who have been lost to ovarian cancer. Approximately 4% of pancreatic cancer patients survive for five years or more from diagnosis; this figure is 46% for those affected by ovarian cancer. Therefore, we host a range of fundraising days throughout the year to help raise money, as well as awareness. We invite you to join us at any of these events as well as to fundraise for us.
